Hong Kong Stock Exchange IPO Statistics: 106 new stocks listed this year with 511 applications currently being processed.

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) has disclosed statistical data on the Hong Kong stock market and IPO applications as of August 31, 2026. In terms of market inventory, there were a total of 2,686 listed companies on the Main Board and GEM (Growth Enterprise Market) at the beginning of the year; 106 new companies were listed during the year, including 104 on the Main Board and 2 on GEM. Throughout the year, 31 companies were delisted in total, with 23 from the Main Board and 8 from GEM. By August 31, the total number of listed companies in the Hong Kong stock market reached 2,761, comprising 2,455 on the Main Board and 306 on GEM. On the IPO application front, as of the report date in 2026, the HKEX has processed a total of 866 listing applications, with 816 on the Main Board, 17 on GEM, and 33 in other categories. Among these, 379 applications carried over from the end of 2025 were pending completion, and 487 new applications were received in 2026. Breaking down the application status, 135 applications have completed the listing process, including 104 on the Main Board, 2 on GEM, and 29 in other categories; 23 applications have been approved by the Listing Committee and are awaiting listing; 511 applications are currently being processed, with 501 on the Main Board and 9 on GEM; additionally, 197 applications fall into other statuses, including expired application periods, rejections, returns, and voluntary withdrawals by companies.
