In the first eight months of 2026, Hong Kong saw a total of 106 new listed companies raising HK$342.363 billion. The number of new listings increased by 47 companies, or 79.7%, compared to the same period last year, while IPO fundraising rose by HK$207.283 billion, or 153.5%.
The number of new listings and IPO fundraising in the first eight months of 2026 completely surpassed the totals for the entire year of 2024 (71 listings, HK$87.975 billion raised) and 2023 (73 listings, HK$46.321 billion raised); IPO fundraising was 1.19 times that of the total amount raised in 2025.
1. Basic Situation - Currently, there are 2,761 listed companies (as of August 31, 2026)
As of August 31, 2026, there were 2,761 listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (including 2,455 main board companies and 306 GEM companies), an increase of 75 companies compared to the end of 2025, primarily due to 106 new listings and 31 delistings.
2. New Listings (January-August 2026)
In the first eight months of 2026, there were a total of 106 new listed companies in Hong Kong (compared to 59 in 2025 and 43 in 2024), of which 103 went public through IPOs, 1 listed via introduction, and 2 transferred from GEM to the main board.
3. IPO Fundraising (January-August 2026)
Note: Some IPO fundraising amounts may have changed primarily due to the possible exercise of "green shoe" options.
In the first eight months of 2026, 103 companies that listed through IPOs (excluding 1 listed via introduction and 2 transferred to the main board) raised a total of HK$342.363 billion, an increase of HK$207.283 billion or 1.535 times compared to the same period in 2025. This significant increase was mainly due to a strong recovery in the Hong Kong IPO market, with several large technology companies and large A-share companies, including Zhongji Innolight (03308), which raised approximately HK$61.4215 billion, successfully going public, marking the largest IPO project since 2019.
