On September 1, the Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates generally fell, with the one-month HIBOR, related to mortgage lending, reported at 2.86399%, up by 1.399 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting banks' funding costs, was reported at 3.02679%, an increase of 0.715 basis points. The overnight rate was reported at 3.28250%, down 81.607 basis points; the one-week HIBOR fell by 15.441 basis points to 3.07583%, while the two-week rate decreased by 2.756 basis points to 2.89143%. The two-month HIBOR was reported at 2.95000%, down 0.071 basis points. In terms of longer tenors, the six-month HIBOR fell by 1.352 basis points to 3.21327%, and the one-year rate decreased by 0.143 basis points to 3.51327%.
