Junlebao Dairy Group Co., Ltd. issued a statement regarding the Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Departments Food Safety Centre's sampling of a batch of 1-liter UHT ambient pure milk, announcing the results of a full process verification.
On August 30, Junlebao Dairy Group Co., Ltd. released a statement regarding the Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Department's food safety center's random inspection of a batch of 1-liter UHT shelf-stable pure milk packaged in cartons, announcing the results of a comprehensive process review. The review showed that the production, shipment, and export processes of this batch of products complied with regulatory procedures, and the factory inspection passed. The inspection by the technical center of Shijiazhuang Customs on the retained samples also confirmed their compliance. The abnormal indicators were due to improper handling during unloading in the Hong Kong warehouse, which caused damage to some products. On August 26, the Hong Kong Food Safety Center announced the inspection results of this batch of Junlebao shelf-stable pure milk, indicating that the sample's colony count exceeded the standards set by the Hong Kong Dairy Regulations. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Food Safety Center noted that while the elevated colony count indicates that the product's hygiene conditions were less than ideal, it does not imply a risk of food poisoning. Currently, this batch of products has been fully stored in the warehouses of the Hong Kong importer and has not entered the market, thus not affecting any consumers. Following the incident, Junlebao took the matter seriously and promptly established a special investigation team, actively cooperating with the Hong Kong Food Safety Center in its investigation. A thorough review was conducted of the entire production, shipment, export, and transportation processes for this batch of products. The investigation confirmed that this product was designed for the Hong Kong market with packaging in traditional Chinese characters and was not sold in other markets; this batch of products (production date: May 7, 2026) passed the company's inspection before leaving the factory and met the relevant standards in mainland China and Hong Kong; upon export, this batch was transported through Shenzhen and cleared customs, all processes in compliance with export regulations; after the incident, testing of retained samples of this batch by the technical center of Shijiazhuang Customs resulted in a report issued on August 30 indicating that the product met Hong Kong standards, with a qualified total colony count. According to the process review, it was confirmed that after this batch of products arrived at the Hong Kong warehouse, improper handling during unloading resulted in damage to some products, causing a breakdown in sealing or contamination, which led to abnormal sampling for this batch. The batch was still in a storage state at the time of sampling and had not entered the market distribution chain. In its statement, Junlebao expressed deep apologies for the impact and concerns this incident has caused to the public, partners, and the community. The company will comprehensively strengthen quality control throughout the entire process, rigorously managing every segment while firmly maintaining the quality baseline to ensure consumer health and safety, and honor every trust placed in them. The Junlebao brand was founded in 1995 and has always focused on the development of the entire dairy industry chain. Leveraging its integrated model, the entire process from forage planting and dairy cow breeding to production and processing is tightly controlled, continuously ensuring product safety and quality with stringent standards. Its infant formula milk powder entered the Hong Kong and Macau markets in 2016 and 2017, respectively; in recent years, Junlebao has further promoted its internationalization strategy, with its fresh milk brand YoFresh entering the Hong Kong market in 2025 and rapidly covering mainstream sales channels within just one year. The success in the Hong Kong market has validated the replicability and competitiveness of Junlebao products in diverse markets. On August 20, Junlebao Dairy Group submitted updated IPO materials to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The documents indicated that its market share for low-temperature liquid milk reached the top position nationally in 2025, with double-digit growth in both main business revenue and net profit in the first half of 2026.
