Macau Statistics and Census Bureau: In July, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in Macau increased to 91.6% year-on-year.
In July, the number of inbound tourists on group tours was 141,000, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%; the number of group tourists from mainland China dropped by 7.2% to 123,000.
According to the data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macau, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in July 2026 increased by 0.5 percentage points year-on-year to 91.6%. The occupancy rates for five-star (94.2%) and four-star (90.3%) hotels rose by 0.2 and 3.8 percentage points respectively, while the occupancy rate for three-star hotels (85.5%) decreased by 1.5 percentage points.
In July this year, the number of hotel guests dropped by 4.3% year-on-year to 1.229 million; visitors from mainland China (923,000) and the Hong Kong SAR (145,000) saw declines of 3.9% and 13.8% respectively; international guests (89,000) increased by 9.5%, with visitors from India (8,000), Thailand (8,000), and the United States (6,000) rising by 81.1%, 21.2%, and 24.4% respectively, while guests from South Korea (25,000) and Japan (5,000) decreased by 3.0% and 7.7%.
In July, the number of inbound tourists traveling in groups totaled 141,000, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%; group visitors from mainland China fell by 7.2% to 123,000.
In the first seven months of this year, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms rose by 1.2 percentage points year-on-year to 90.6%, while the number of guests decreased by 1.4% to 8.367 million; there were 753,000 international guests, an increase of 12.2%. On the other hand, the total number of inbound group tourists in the first seven months dropped by 11.4% year-on-year to 990,000.
