The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced that former Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, Dr. Wong Man-kit, will take office as the Postmaster General of Hong Kong on September 26, 2026, succeeding Dai Shuqiao, who will begin her pre-retirement leave.
On August 28, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced that former Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, Wu Wanjie, will assume the role of Postmaster General of Hong Kong on September 26, 2026, succeeding Dai Shuqiao, who will begin her pre-retirement leave. Secretary for the Civil Service, Yang He Bain, said, Mr. Wu is a seasoned administrative officer with excellent leadership and management skills. I am confident that he will continue to provide professional and efficient services to the public in his new position. Regarding the retiring Dai Shuqiao, Yang He Bain stated, Ms. Dai has devoted herself to serving the public for the past thirty-eight years. During her tenure as Postmaster General of Hong Kong, she firmly led the department in delivering professional and high-quality postal services. She responded actively to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and guided the department in making good use of technology to further enhance service quality and operational efficiency while striving to promote Hongkong Posts logistics services in response to market conditions and demand. I sincerely wish her a fulfilling and happy retirement. The following are the personal resumes of the two officials: Dai Shuqiao Dai Shuqiao joined the administrative service in July 1988 and was promoted to the rank of Principal Government Officer in April 2023. She has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former Administration Wing, former Establishment and Personnel Branch, former Financial Services Branch, former Administration Branch, former Chief Secretary's Office, former Trade and Industry Department, Office of the Chief Secretary for Administration, Civil Service Bureau, Trade and Industry Department, and Radio Television Hong Kong. From July 2016 to November 2019, she served as the Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare (Welfare), from November 2019 to September 2021 as the Director of the Government Property Agency, and has been the Postmaster General of Hong Kong since September 2021. Wu Wanjie Wu Wanjie joined the administrative service in August 1995 and was promoted to the rank of Principal Government Officer in April 2026. He has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former Health, Welfare and Food Bureau, former Security Bureau (later renamed Security Bureau), Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Tokyo, Housing Department, former Environment, Transport and Works Bureau, Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Geneva, former Environment Bureau, and Environmental Protection Department. He served as the Head of the Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance from October 2019 to March 2022, as the Deputy Secretary for Housing/Housing Department Deputy Director (Strategy) from April 2022 to November 2024, and as the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene from November 2024 to June 2026.
