Ganfeng Lithium Group (01772) rose over 7%, with an increase of 7.22% to HKD 40.1, and a transaction volume of HKD 701 million as of the time of publication. In terms of news, recently, market media quoted informed sources stating that Ganfeng Lithium Group is in deep negotiations with LG Chem regarding the acquisition of a partial stake in the Wodgina lithium mine, which is owned by Mineral Resources (MinRes). In addition to these two companies, Japan's Mitsui & Co. and domestic power battery leader Contemporary Amperex Technology have also shown strong investment interest in this lithium mine asset. The core demand from all parties is to secure a long-term stable supply of upstream lithium raw materials, reinforcing their resource layout in the upstream supply chain of the lithium battery industry. It is reported that the Wodgina lithium mine is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, about 100 kilometers south of Hedland Port. It is the world's largest hard rock lithium deposit. The overall estimated valuation of the project is AUD 4 billion, equivalent to USD 3 billion. With the advantage of its location near Australia's core port, the logistics and transport conditions for lithium concentrates to be shipped overseas are very favorable.
