BRII-B (02137) released its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reporting other income of 19.5 million yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 30.6%; R&D expenditures of 98.3 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 16.0%; a loss for the period of 101 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 32.1%; a loss attributable to shareholders of 101 million yuan, a year-on-year narrowing of 32.08%; and a basic loss per share of 0.14 yuan.
The announcement stated that the decrease in other income was mainly due to a decline in fixed deposit interest rates, which resulted in a decrease in bank interest income of 7.9 million yuan. The reduction in R&D expenditures was primarily attributed to optimization of the organizational structure, adjustments to the compensation framework, and a decrease in third-party contract costs as the Phase II research activities of the HBV project gradually concluded, which was partially offset by increased investments in early detection. The reduction in loss for the period was mainly due to increased other income and reduced operating expenses.
During the reporting period and immediately following it, Tansheng Boyao obtained additional clinical data supporting its differentiated functional cure strategy for HBV while continuing to strengthen its internal discovery capabilities and advancing its RNA-based technology platform. In its clinical HBV projects, the company presented the study completion data of the Phase 2b ENSURE study at the European Association for the Study of the Liver Congress in 2026. On July 3, the company also announced the treatment completion topline data of its Phase 2b ENRICH and ENHANCE studies. The results of the ENSURE, ENRICH, and ENHANCE studies consistently support BRII-179 as part of a combination therapy with the potential to improve functional cure outcomes. Detailed data from the ENRICH and ENHANCE studies is expected to be released in the second half of 2026.
