The group achieved total operating revenue of 3.024 billion AUD, an increase of 13% year-on-year; the net profit attributable to shareholders after tax (excluding non-recurring items) was 17 million AUD, a decrease of 55% year-on-year; the earnings per share (excluding non-recurring items) was 1.3 Australian cents, and it plans to distribute an interim dividend of 0.07 AUD per share.
YANCOAL AUS (03668) announced its interim results for the six months ending June 30, 2026, reporting a general operating income of AUD 3.024 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13%. The net profit attributable to shareholders after tax (excluding non-recurring items) was AUD 17 million, a year-on-year decrease of 55%. The earnings per share (after excluding non-recurring items) were 1.3 Australian cents, and an interim dividend of AUD 0.07 per share is proposed.
Compared to the first half of 2025, Yancoal Australias marketable coal production increased by 4% (on a 100% basis) in the first half of 2026. After prioritizing overburden stripping operations in the first quarter, we can maximize coal production for the remainder of the year. In the second quarter, the share of marketable coal production reached 10.8 million tons, while the total for the first half was 19.8 million tons. Yancoal Australia is currently progressing smoothly and is expected to reach the upper half of its guidance range, setting a new annual production record in 2026.
In the first half of 2026, the profit attributable to Yancoal Australia shareholders was AUD 0.17 billion, impacted by several non-operational items. The pre-tax net loss totaled AUD 272 million, which includes a fair value loss of AUD 188 million resulting from the reversal of self-hedging reserves, an impairment of AUD 49 million confirmed by Zhongshan, contingent royalty payments of AUD 20 million, a remeasurement gain of AUD 3 million on contingent royalties, and a remeasurement loss of AUD 18 million on receivables for royalties.
