On August 19, the Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates rose across the board, with the one-month HIBOR related to mortgages reported at 2.62655%, up 5.000 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting the cost of bank funding, was reported at 2.93649%, up 4.857 basis points.
The overnight rate was reported at 2.52321%, up 21.035 basis points; the one-week HIBOR rose by 22.845 basis points to 2.51780%, while the two-week rate increased by 9.839 basis points to 2.54482%. The two-month HIBOR was reported at 2.83649%, up 2.941 basis points.
In terms of long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR rose by 1.256 basis points to 3.20000%, while the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.50000%.
