ZAI LAB (09688) rose nearly 7% in early trading and, as of the time of writing, was up 4.61% at HKD 20.18, with a trading volume of HKD 131 million. On the news front, according to Yaoyan.com, on August 17, the immunology company argenx announced positive topline results from the Phase 3 clinical study ALKIVIA, which evaluated its core product FcRn antagonist (efgartigimod alpha) in the treatment of adult autoimmune myositis. Notably, argenx had previously granted ZAI LAB exclusive rights for the development and commercialization of efgartigimod in the Greater China region. It is worth mentioning that the ALKIVIA study itself is a Phase 3 global study initiated by argenx, in which ZAI LAB is also involved in clinical development and patient enrollment in the Greater China region. If this indication is subsequently approved globally, ZAI LAB is expected to further expand the commercialization landscape of efgartigimod in the field of autoimmune diseases in China.
