China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. (02099) announced that the slope management plan for its Changshanhao gold mine has been approved. According to the current construction schedule, it is anticipated that within about one month after the construction team is confirmed and mobilized, the critical phase of the remediation project necessary to resume mining operations will be completed, enabling a gradual return to normal mining activities.
CHINAGOLDINTL (02099) announced that the slope stabilization plan for the Changshanhao Gold Mine has been approved. According to the current construction schedule, it is expected that within about one month after the construction unit is determined and mobilized, the key phased stabilization works necessary for resuming mining operations will be completed, and normal mining operations will gradually resume. On May 22, 2026, a local slope instability event occurred at the Changshanhao Mine. The incident did not result in casualties or equipment loss. To ensure safety, the Changshanhao Mine suspended open-pit mining operations, while the beneficiation operations continued using the existing low-grade ore stockpile. Subsequently, the company organized external geotechnical engineering experts and specialized institutions to carry out geotechnical assessments and design stabilization plans. Currently, both the "Geological Disaster Treatment Plan Design for Open-Pit Mine Slopes" and the "Engineering Design for Geological Disaster Prevention and Control of Open-Pit Mine Slopes" have been approved for implementation by the company. The total estimated capital expenditures for these two projects amount to approximately RMB 98.3758 million, with the main engineering arrangements as follows: The slope stabilization project for the open-pit mining area is expected to take 183 days, with a capital expenditure budget of RMB 48.4628 million. The geological disaster prevention and control project for the open-pit mining slope is expected to take 240 days, with a capital expenditure budget of RMB 49.9130 million. The company will fully implement all safety risk control measures and will dynamically adjust the construction schedule based on the progress of slope stabilization works, safety monitoring data, actual site conditions, and relevant acceptance criteria. The stabilization and prevention projects will be advanced simultaneously, and coordinated plans for slope reduction and mining operations will be adopted under the premise of ensuring safety. It is expected that the company can coordinate the implementation of the key works necessary to resume mining operations with the overall slope stabilization process, continuously monitor slope stability, and orderly restore normal mining production, provided that safety standards and relevant engineering acceptance criteria are met. According to the current plan, after the bidding process is completed to determine the construction unit and finalize the on-site construction arrangements, the company will focus on completing the return type ore passage construction, installation of the passive protective net system for the lower section of the sliding mass, and other key phased engineering tasks necessary for resuming mining operations within about one month. It is initially expected that by the end of September 2026, the major disaster hazard points impacting mining operations will be eliminated, achieving the safety benchmarks required to restore normal mining operations. Thereafter, the overall slope protection and treatment project will continue to advance strictly according to the approved design plan.
