This is the second time in a short period that a core executive has left DingTalk since the former CEO Chen Hang stepped down in June of this year.
Alibaba's (09988) intelligent mobile office platform DingTalk has once again seen high-level personnel changes. Reports indicate that Yang Meng, the Global President of Commercial Affairs and head of the Customer Development Department at DingTalk, has left the company and plans to join Ant Group, which is also part of Alibaba. As for the commercial responsibilities he previously held, they are expected to be taken over by Ren Qing, the Vice President of DingTalk. According to insider sources, this departure was initiated by Yang Meng himself, and the related personnel changes are likely to be officially announced in the near future. This marks another core executive departure for DingTalk following the resignation of former CEO Chen Hang in June of this year. At that time, Chen Yusen, who took over the role, sent out a company-wide letter announcing a comprehensive integration of direct sales, telemarketing, service providers, pre-sales, delivery, and customer success teams, and the establishment of a new Customer Development Department, which was entrusted to Yang Meng and reported directly to Chen Yusen. Public information shows that Yang Meng, an early employee of Alibaba, joined the company in 2002 with employee number 598. He started as a frontline salesman in the China supplier business, accumulating rich management and practical experience. In 2019, he was reassigned to DingTalk to oversee sales and later promoted to Global President of Commercial Affairs, where he was responsible for direct sales, channel service providers, key accounts, and the construction and expansion of the ecological commercialization system. Under his leadership, DingTalk's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) surged from over $100 million in 2023 to over $200 million in the first half of last year.
