The central bank: 8 new DIGIHUMAN RMB business operation institutions added.
The People's Bank of China has added Ping An Bank, Hengfeng Bank, Bohai Bank, Shanghai Bank, Hangzhou Bank, Huishang Bank, Changsha Bank, and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Bank as operating institutions for digital renminbi services in the banking sector, and has connected them to the central bank's digital renminbi system.
On August 17, the People's Bank of China announced that in order to implement the strategic deployment of the "14th Five-Year Plan" regarding the "steady development of DIGIHUMAN RMB," further enhance the inclusiveness of DIGIHUMAN RMB services, and continuously respond to the public's demand for safe, convenient, and efficient DIGIHUMAN RMB services, the People's Bank of China has added Ping An Bank, Hengfeng Bank, CBHB, Bank of Shanghai, Bank of Hangzhou, Huishang Bank, Bank of Changsha, and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Bank as operating institutions for DIGIHUMAN RMB business and connected them to the central bank's DIGIHUMAN RMB system. The new institutions will commence DIGIHUMAN RMB business after completing business and technical preparations. Currently, the number of operating institutions for DIGIHUMAN RMB business has expanded to 30.
Looking ahead, the People's Bank of China will orderly promote the expansion of operating institutions according to the principles of marketization and the rule of law, further stimulating the initiative and creativity of market entities, and building an open, inclusive, and fair competitive environment for the development of DIGIHUMAN RMB.
