According to a document, AI chatbot developer Anthropic PBC, known for its Siasun Robot & Automation Claude, is revealing to potential investors that its revenue in the second quarter has increased by at least 14 times compared to the same period last year. The AI startup recorded over $11.5 billion in preliminary revenue data for the latest quarter, while the figure for the same quarter in 2025 was $787 million, and $4.73 billion in the first quarter of this year. The document also indicates that Anthropic's adjusted operating profit for the second quarter of 2026 will be positive. Relevant reviews are still ongoing, and the data may be subject to revisions. An Anthropic spokesperson declined to comment on this matter. As its revenue skyrockets, the company is competing with its longtime rival OpenAI for enterprise clients. Anthropic was once seen as a laggard in the AI race, but its software is now being adopted by more and more professionals for streamlining workflows such as coding. Anthropic's annualized revenue (i.e., run rate) surpassed $47 billion in May. Reports indicate that OpenAI's annualized run rate exceeds $40 billion, although the calculation methods for both may differ. According to insiders in July, the company is meeting with investors for its potential mega IPO. Previous reports suggested that Anthropic has secretly filed for an IPO and is working with Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase to advance the IPO process. Anthropic is seeking to leverage the abundant financing capacity of the public markets to maintain its competitive edge over OpenAI and other rivalscurrently, AI companies are spending hundreds of billions of dollars to develop cutting-edge models. If the IPO is completed this fall, Anthropic will not only go public ahead of OpenAI but will also debut on the public market before DeepSeeka Chinese AI company that is continually capturing increasing market share. Insiders have revealed that DeepSeek is also preparing for an IPO, with a potential application to be submitted as early as this year. The AI race has ignited the IPO market. Data shows that so far this year (excluding SPACs and other financial instruments), new stock listings have raised $256.4 billion, marking the highest annual fundraising amount since 2021.
