The Statistics and Census Service of Macau: In the second quarter, the average rent of residential units in Macau decreased by 0.1% quarter-on-quarter.

In the second quarter of 2026, the average rent of residential units in Macau per square meter of usable area decreased by 0.1% compared to the first quarter; retail units fell by 1.5% quarter-on-quarter; and the decline for office units and industrial units was 0.6% and 0.3%, respectively.
According to the data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macao, in the second quarter of 2026, the average rent for residential units per square meter of usable area decreased by 0.1% to 140 MOP (Macanese Pataca) compared to the first quarter; the average rent for commercial units was 460 MOP, down 1.5% quarter-on-quarter; and the rent for office units (272 MOP) and industrial units (116 MOP) decreased by 0.6% and 0.3% respectively. In terms of residential units, the average rents in the Heisha Wan reclaimed area (159 MOP) and the New Neighbourhood area (123 MOP) decreased by 2.6% and 0.6% respectively, mainly influenced by new leases with lower rental values; however, the average rents in the Linmaotang area (147 MOP) and the Outer Harbour and Namba Lake reclaimed area (149 MOP) increased by 1.6% and 0.4% respectively. An analysis by usable area shows that rental prices for residential units of 150 square meters or more (125 MOP) and those between 100 and 149.9 square meters (130 MOP) increased by 0.3% and 0.2% quarter-on-quarter, while units below 50 square meters (168 MOP) decreased by 0.7%. For commercial units, rents in the New Bridge area (298 MOP) and the Netherlands Garden area (305 MOP) fell by 2.7% and 1.9% respectively, while rents in the Central area (661 MOP) rose by 0.7%. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, the average rent for residential units increased by 0.7%, while industrial units decreased by 5.1%, and commercial and office units both saw a decline of 4.1%.
