On August 14, the National Postal Administration announced the operational situation of the postal industry from January to July 2026. From January to July, the total business revenue of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating revenue of the Postal Savings Bank) reached 1,079.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. Among this, the revenue from express delivery reached 901.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%.
From January to July, the total volume of postal delivery services reached 127.44 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. Among this, the volume of express delivery reached 117.47 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.
In July, the business revenue of the postal industry was 154.30 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. Among this, the revenue from express delivery was 130.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.1%.
In July, the volume of postal delivery services was 18.54 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%. Among this, the volume of express delivery was 17.08 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%.
In terms of business type, from January to July, the volume of same-city express delivery reached 8.51 billion pieces, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%; the volume of inter-city express delivery reached 106.48 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%; and the volume of international/Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan express delivery reached 2.48 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%.
From January to July, the volumes of same-city, inter-city, and international/Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan express delivery accounted for 7.2%, 90.7%, and 2.1% of the total express delivery volume, respectively. Compared to the same period last year, the proportion of same-city express delivery volume decreased by 1.1 percentage points, while the proportion of inter-city express delivery volume increased by 1.1 percentage points, and the proportion of international/Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan business volume remained roughly unchanged.
From January to July, the proportions of express delivery revenue from the eastern, central, and western regions were 73.7%, 15.6%, and 10.7%, respectively, while the proportions of express delivery volume were 68.8%, 20.8%, and 10.4%. Compared to the same period last year, the revenue proportion from the eastern region decreased by 0.3 percentage points, and the volume proportion decreased by 2.7 percentage points; the revenue proportion from the central region increased by 0.1 percentage points, and the volume proportion increased by 1.4 percentage points; the revenue proportion from the western region increased by 0.2 percentage points, and the volume proportion increased by 1.3 percentage points.
From January to July, the brand concentration index CR8 for express delivery revenue was 87.0, which remained basically the same as in January to June; the brand concentration index CR8 for express delivery volume was 96.2, an increase of 0.1 compared to January to June.
