Figure 1: China Express Development Index from July 2024 to July 2026 In July, the development scale index reached 603.5, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year. In terms of sub-indicators, the volume of express deliveries is expected to grow by about 4% year-on-year, and express delivery revenue is expected to grow by about 8% year-on-year. In July, the industry continued to make efforts in niche markets, actively stimulating domestic demand growth, focusing on characteristic service scenarios such as replacement services, Shenzhen Agricultural Power Group logistics, cultural tourism events, and graduation mailing, continuously extending service networks, smoothing circulation channels, and meeting diverse market consumption needs through customized and refined services, thereby gradually expanding the market size with a daily average of about 550 million parcels, establishing a solid guarantee for ensuring smooth economic circulation and activating consumer spending. In July, the service quality index was 566.8, showing a slight year-on-year increase. According to sub-indicators, the public satisfaction score for express delivery services is expected to be 85.3 points, an increase of 0.1 points year-on-year. The 72-hour delivery rate in key areas is expected to reach 86.7%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points year-on-year. The industry is deeply engaged in the real economy, strengthening emergency support service capabilities. First, emergency support safeguards peoples livelihoods. In July, typhoons caused heavy rainfall in many regions, increasing the pressure on flood control and transportation. Express delivery companies, relying on flexible network scheduling capabilities, intelligent technological equipment, and mature emergency response experiences, actively contributed to flood relief and post-disaster recovery, fully demonstrating the value of express delivery channels in safeguarding peoples livelihoods. On one hand, express delivery companies promptly activated emergency response mechanisms, ensuring safety for operational personnel and parcel integrity through measures such as pre-sorting parcels, adjusting transport routes, strengthening real-time monitoring, conducting safety inspections at vehicle depots, and implementing waterproof and damage preventive measures; they leveraged the advantages of unmanned warehouses, drones, and unmanned vehicles to rapidly restore warehousing and delivery capabilities, effectively meeting the surging demand for delivery services in key areas. On the other hand, express delivery companies took the initiative to participate in emergency rescue efforts, urgently transporting donated necessities and carrying rescue equipment such as inflatable boats and rubber rafts, establishing multidimensional delivery channels across water, land, and air to ensure swift, accurate allocation, and safe, efficient delivery of rescue materials. Second, express delivery supports agricultural development. In July, express delivery companies precisely met the delivery needs of Shenzhen Agricultural Power Group, comprehensively upgrading their service guarantee systems. By investing in sorting warehouses, micro-warehouses, mobile cold storage, and mobile refrigerators, they achieved rapid preservation and reduced loss for seasonal products like freshwater crabs, Matsutake mushrooms, and crunchy plums; they established a comprehensive logistics system integrating water, land, air, rail + low-altitude unmanned equipment, effectively enhancing transportation efficiency and safety for fresh products. Focusing on Xinjiangs export needs, they strengthened pre-service support by adding temporary collection points in production areas, providing standardized packaging, and ensuring delivery quality in the last mile; actively collaborating with agricultural cooperatives, breeding bases, and live e-commerce platforms, they built a mutually beneficial and collaborative ecology of empowering production areas + channel matchmaking + quality logistics, breaking through production and sales barriers with customized supply chain solutions to facilitate the national distribution of Xinjiangs high-quality products. Third, empowering quality improvement in manufacturing transformation. In July, express delivery companies extensively coordinated with characteristic industrial clusters, leveraging intelligent and integrated supply chain service capabilities to assist upstream and downstream enterprises in transitioning and upgrading. They set up international hubs in Haining, Zhejiang, exploring an integrated innovation service model of logistics + training + resource matchmaking, empowering home textile companies to expand into global markets. In Xinhui, Guangdong, they built a public regulatory warehouse for Chenpi (dried tangerine peel) through a government-enterprise collaboration, relying on unique item codes, AI dynamic control, remote monitoring, immediate pick-up after warehousing, and direct shipping to terminals to create a comprehensive traceability system ensuring quality throughout the supply chain. In the Greater Bay Area, they established a global smart central warehouse for electronic products, achieving fully automated operations through human-machine collaboration, significantly enhancing operational efficiency, while effectively reducing costs and carbon emissions through energy-efficient equipment, paperless operations, and eco-friendly consumables, achieving dual empowerment in quality improvement and green development. Express delivery companies are strategically targeting industrial needs with precise measures, empowering the high-quality and sustainable development of characteristic industries through digital and intelligent logistics innovations.
