SAMSONITE (01910) announced its mid-year results for 2026, reporting a net sales of $1.6806 billion, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year; the profit attributable to equity holders was $90.9 million, a decrease of 23.1%; and the basic earnings per share were $0.066. For the six months ending June 30, 2026, the company's net sales were $1.6806 billion, an increase of $18.9 million or 1.1% compared to $1.6617 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2025. On a constant currency basis, net sales decreased by 0.7%. The annual weakness of the US dollar positively impacted the year-on-year improvement in reported net sales. The increase in reported net sales was also driven by growth in the company's DTC channels, the SAMSONITE brand, and the lifestyle bag category. During the period, net sales were adversely affected by ongoing conflicts in Iran and other parts of the Middle East. These conflicts triggered inflationary pressures, leading to weak travel demand and diminished consumer confidence, especially in North America. Excluding the sales from the Middle East and Indian markets, which were most severely impacted by the conflicts, the consolidated net sales for the six months ending June 30, 2026, increased by 3.1% year-on-year (an increase of 0.7% on a constant currency basis).
