On August 12, IMAGI INT'L Holdings Limited (00585) announced that Mr. Tan Wenkang has been appointed as the company's independent non-executive director, chairman of the remuneration committee, and a member of the audit committee and nomination committee, with the relevant appointment effective from August 17, 2026.
IMAGI INT'L stated that Mr. Tan Wenkang has extensive experience in artificial intelligence, cutting-edge technology, investment banking, auditing, and financial services. The company believes that his addition will bring a more diverse professional perspective to the board, further enhance corporate governance and strategic decision-making capabilities, and positively impact the future development of IMAGI INT'L.
Mr. Tan is currently a Hong Kong and international development advisor for XTALPI Limited, a Hong Kong-listed company focused on artificial intelligence and Siasun Robot & Automation R&D platforms, and serves as the non-executive chairman of its wholly-owned subsidiary LCC Technologies Limited. He served as the chief financial officer of XTALPI from December 2020 to December 2025, deeply involved in the strategic development and capital operations of AI and cutting-edge technology companies.
During his time at XTALPI, Mr. Tan led financing projects totaling over $1.3 billion, including XTALPI's initial public offering in Hong Kong in June 2024. XTALPI thus became the first specialized technology company listed under Chapter 18C of the Listing Rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This experience showcases Mr. Tan's expertise in technology company financing, capital market operations, and communication with international investors.
Before joining XTALPI, Mr. Tan accrued over 20 years of experience in investment banking, auditing, and financial services, having worked at ING Barings, BOCI, UBS, and Jefferies Financial Group, and spent time at the audit department of Ernst & Young. He also served as an executive trainee at HSBC and as managing director of the International Wealth Management Division at UBS, with professional experience spanning corporate finance, investment banking, wealth management, auditing, and financial management.
Mr. Tan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and a Master's degree in Sustainable Leadership from the University of Cambridge in the UK. He possesses professional qualifications including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Fellow of the CPA Australia, and member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was recognized as one of the "Asian 21st Century Young Leaders" and "40 Young Business Leaders," and in 2024 received the "Best CFO Award (Financial Leadership)" from Fortune and Futu. He also won the Extel "Best CFO Award" for two consecutive years in 2025 and 2026.
The IMAGI INT'L board believes that Mr. Tan Wenkang's knowledge of the cutting-edge technology industry, management experience in AI enterprises, and perspective on international capital markets closely align with the companys long-term development needs.
