On August 12, Daiichi Sankyo announced that a new indication for its blockbuster ADC drug "trastuzumab deruxtecan" developed in collaboration with AstraZeneca has been approved for launch. The indication is for use in combination with pertuzumab for the first-line treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. Trastuzumab deruxtecan (DS-8201, brand name: Enhertu) is a HER2-targeting ADC drug developed by Daiichi Sankyo, in collaboration with AstraZeneca for global development and commercialization. The drug consists of a HER2-targeting antibody, a cleavable tetrapeptide linker, and a topoisomerase I inhibitor DXd (derivative of irinotecan), with a DAR of approximately 8.
