In news, Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine Co., Ltd. announced last night that its self-developed Class 1 new drug, Jientai (Tehometinib Tablets), has received conditional approval for marketing from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for adult patients with previously systemic treatment and FGFR inhibitor treatment history, and who have FGFR2 fusion or rearrangement, in cases of advanced, metastatic, or unresectable cholangiocarcinoma. This therapy has previously been included in the NMPA's priority review and breakthrough therapy program. It is reported that this drug is the first innovative drug approved for marketing under Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine. Phase II pivotal clinical studies showed that, as of December 27, 2025, with a median follow-up of 12 months, the objective response rate (ORR) was 28.0% among 50 advanced cholangiocarcinoma patients, the disease control rate (DCR) was 82.0%, the median progression-free survival (mPFS) was 6.0 months, and the median overall survival (mOS) was 20.7 months. Jientai has previously received "Fast Track Designation" and "Orphan Drug Designation" from the FDA in the United States, as well as "Orphan Drug Designation" from the EMA for the treatment of biliary tract cancer.
