China National Pharmaceutical Group (01177) announced that its subsidiary, Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Beijing Tide), has received approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its second-generation flurbiprofen patch (brand name: Zepsin), categorized as a new type of drug (5.1 category). This patch is intended for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with the following diseases and symptoms: osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), muscle pain, and swelling and pain caused by trauma. The product has also been granted a four-year data protection period by the NMPA, establishing a solid barrier to reinforce the group's leading market position.

The product has also been granted a 4-year data protection period by the NMPA, establishing a solid barrier to reinforce the groups market leadership. There are over 200 million chronic pain patients in China, and this demographic is trending younger. Osteoarthritis, sports injuries, and pain in the shoulders, neck, lower back, and upper back are not only prevalent among the middle-aged and elderly, but their incidence is also rising annually within fitness enthusiasts, outdoor sports lovers, and office workers who sit for long periods. Topical patches have become the preferred solution for pain management due to their advantages of localized delivery and avoidance of gastrointestinal irritation.
