CATHAY PAC AIR (00293) announced its mid-year results for 2026, reporting a revenue of HKD 68.061 billion, an increase of 25.3% year-on-year; the profit attributable to shareholders of Jiangxi Guotai Group was HKD 6.243 billion, up 71% year-on-year; earnings per share were HKD 0.995, with a proposed ordinary share dividend of HKD 0.26 per share. Jiangxi Guotai Group achieved robust financial performance in the first half of 2026. Our results benefited from the sustained strong core demand for CATHAY PAC AIR and Cathay Freight, improvements in the performance of HK Express, and better profit contributions from joint ventures. Compared to the first half of 2025, the group transported more passengers and cargo and operated more flights. Following a strong start in the first quarter, we faced more severe challenges in the second quarter due to the situation in the Middle East, which led to a significant increase in aviation fuel prices. This resulted in our aviation fuel costs nearly doubling from the first quarter to the second quarter. We implemented measures to mitigate some of the increased costs, including adjustments to passenger and cargo fuel surcharges. Achieving such results in the first half under these circumstances fully reflects the business resilience we have built in recent years.
