On August 5, the Hong Kong Interbank Offered Rate (HIBOR) showed mixed developments, with the one-month HIBOR related to mortgage loans reported at 2.62750%, an increase of 0.071 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting the cost of bank funding, remained unchanged at 2.90000%. The overnight rate was 2.35262%, unchanged; the one-week HIBOR fell by 2.274 basis points to 2.41750%, while the two-week rate rose by 1.185 basis points to 2.50566%. The two-month HIBOR remained unchanged at 2.80000%. For longer-term rates, the six-month HIBOR was reported at 3.17679%, unchanged, and the one-year rate decreased by 1.423 basis points to 3.50000%.
