On Tuesday, chip stocks surged, with Intel Corporation (INTC.US) rising over 7%, SanDisk (SNDK.US) climbing more than 6%, and SK Hynix (SKHY.US), Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US), and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD.US) gaining over 5%. Broadcom Inc. (AVGO.US), Qualcomm (QCOM.US), and ASML Holding NV ADR (ASML.US) increased by more than 3%, while Seagate Technology Holdings PLC (STX.US), Western Digital Corporation (WDC.US), and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) rose over 2%. The latest disclosures reveal that Intel Corporation is vigorously advancing the construction of its large wafer fabrication park in Ohio, aiming for full-scale operations by 2031. To expedite the project, the company is offering substantial overtime bonuses to employees to accelerate the construction pace. The park will cover approximately 1,000 acres and will produce Intel Corporation's "Emerald Era" 18A and 14A process nodes, with plans for large-scale production of the 14A process by 2031. At the same time, Intel Corporation's EMIB-T advanced packaging technology has made significant progress, with costs approximately 50% lower than Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US) CoWoS solutions. Intel Corporation expects to offer this packaging service on a large scale by 2027. Currently, the packaging yield for this technology is nearly 90%; however, the substrate yield is only about 50%, posing a major obstacle to capacity expansion. Relevant suppliers are focusing on enhancing both capacity and yield.
