Trump Media Launchs Premium Data Service for Real-Time Truth Social Access
Trump Media & Technology Group officially launched Truth API on Aug. 1, providing businesses, financial institutions and media organizations with a licensed, low-latency feed of posts published on Truth Social. The service is designed to deliver faster access to content from the platform's most influential accounts.
The platform's most prominent account is President Donald Trump's @realDonaldTrump, which has more than 13 million followers. Trump frequently uses Truth Social to announce major policy decisions and geopolitical developments, making the platform increasingly relevant for investors seeking timely market information.
According to interim CEO Kevin McGurn, Truth API is part of the company's strategy to monetize proprietary content through a subscription-based business model. The company aims to create a high-margin, recurring revenue stream while offering professional users direct access to information that can influence financial markets.
The launch has sparked political criticism in Washington. Democratic Senators Adam Schiff and Elizabeth Warren have urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether selling premium access to potentially market-moving presidential communications could violate securities laws or create an unfair informational advantage for paying clients.
The SEC has not commented on the request. Meanwhile, the Trump family remains the largest shareholder of Trump Media, adding to ongoing debate over potential conflicts of interest between the company's commercial activities and President Trump's public communications.
Truth API also represents a broader strategic shift for Trump Media. Beyond operating a social media platform, the company is positioning itself as a provider of premium real-time information services, seeking to capitalize on the growing demand for fast, exclusive access to market-sensitive digital content.
