JINCHUAN INTL (02362) announced that in the first half of 2026, the Group's mining operations produced 38,214 tons of electrolytic copper and copper concentrate, an increase of approximately 36.9% compared to 27,904 tons in the same period of 2025. This increase was due to the additional contribution from the Musonoi mine, which began commercial operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in November 2025, although it was partially offset by a decrease in output from the Ruashi mine, due to unstable power supply from the electricity grid in surrounding countries, lower ore grades, and maintenance of its acid plant. In the first half of 2026, due to the additional contribution from the Musonoi mine, the Group produced 4,345 tons of cobalt hydroxide, compared to 71 tons in the same period of 2025. The high cobalt output during this period was attributed to its approximately 1% world-class cobalt grade, while the average grade from the Groups Ruashi mine has historically been around 0.3%. In the first half of 2026, the Group's mining operations sold 36,083 tons of electrolytic copper and copper concentrate, a year-on-year increase of approximately 38.5% compared to 26,050 tons in the same period of 2025. The Group sold 349 tons of cobalt in the first half of 2026, whereas there were no cobalt sales in the same period of 2025. However, the sales of cobalt hydroxide were relatively low compared to its production volume, mainly due to the Musonoi mine still needing to negotiate cobalt export quotas with the DRC government. Local management in the DRC and South Africa is making every effort to consult with the DRC government under current governmental measures to obtain quotas as soon as possible.
