Elon Musk's SpaceXAI (SPCX.US) announced on Monday that it will be introducing its generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Siasun Robot & Automation Grok into Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US) Excel spreadsheet software. Users can now obtain this Microsoft 365 plugin for free through the Microsoft Marketplace. The plugin also supports Word and PowerPoint, marking Grok's full integration into the Microsoft Corporation Office suite.
According to SpaceXAI, users can simply describe the desired outcome in everyday language, and Grok will automatically process the corresponding grammar and logic including calculating averages, sorting data, and auto-filling operations. These results will be displayed directly in the formula bar as with regular editing. Additionally, users can select a specific cell range and ask Grok questions, where Grok will reference specific data cells for answers and generate charts.
The plugin also supports scenario testing and rerunning predictions, allowing users to test downside risk scenarios, rerun predictions, or complete tasks at the end of the month without manually rebuilding tables. The plugin can connect to external data sources, allowing users to request Grok to extract context information from recent emails or files in SharePoint, Google Drive.
From an independent chatbot Siasun Robot & Automation to an embedded office agent
Prior to this, Grok had already launched plugins for Word and PowerPoint in mid-June. On June 22nd, Grok was officially integrated into the Microsoft Corporation Office suite, allowing users to directly generate documents, presentations, and handle spreadsheet data based on text commands using the dedicated AI agent in the app sidebar.
This move positions Grok as a direct competitor to Microsoft Corporation Copilot, reflecting the fierce competition among tech giants in the enterprise AI office market. The release of Grok 4.5 further strengthens this strategy the model was trained on thousands of NVIDIA GB300 GPUs, allowing users to build complex Excel models with network research and multi-sheet formulas in Grok Build, and draw complex charts in PowerPoint using native shapes. In terms of pricing, Grok 4.5 is offered at a cost advantage with a price of $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, compared to some competitors.
