Of these, about 60% of the applications came from the 5 new cities in mainland China. The number of mainland vehicle inspection centers has increased to 23, with new centers in cities such as Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan. Another 5 centers will be put into service in the next 2 months, bringing the total to 28 centers covering all cities in the Greater Bay Area. The Director of the Hong Kong Transport and Logistics Department, Ms. Miriam Lau, visited the "Guangdong Vehicle Southward" vehicle inspection center in Shenzhen with her team yesterday to inspect the preparations for the new inspection center, including registration, inspection, and installation of the "Easy Pass" vehicle stickers. She expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the inspection center. The quota for entry into the city has also been increased from 100 to 200 vehicles, and the Transport and Logistics Department will launch the "Easy Park Travel" service at port parking lots on top of the existing "Easy Park Fly" service to enhance the capacity of hardware and software. The authorities stated that the demand from mainland residents, especially high-spending individuals and families, for tourism, business, attending exhibitions, using professional services, and dining out will drive growth in Hong Kong's retail, dining, and diverse economy.
