Genneia is expected to become the first Argentine company to go public in the United States since 2019.
Argentinian renewable energy producer Genneia filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last Thursday, planning to raise up to $100 million through an initial public offering (IPO), potentially becoming the first Argentinian company to list in the United States since 2019. The company plans to dual-list on the New York Stock Exchange and the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BYMA) with the stock code "GENN". Genneia is a leading renewable energy company in Argentina, operating the country's largest utility-grade wind energy and CECEP Solar Energy projects, as well as peak-load thermal power capacity with strategic locations. As of April 2026, the company has a total installed capacity of 2,128 megawatts, accounting for approximately 23% of Argentina's wind energy and CECEP Solar Energy installed capacity. Its core business model focuses on developing, constructing, and operating power assets under long-term dollar-denominated power purchase agreements. Besides its core power generation business, Genneia recently acquired a 13.2% indirect stake in Transener, the main high-voltage transmission company in Argentina, further expanding its presence in the power value chain. Founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2012, the company reported revenue of $377 million for the 12 months ending on March 31, 2026. Genneia submitted a confidential filing on October 6, 2025. Morgan Stanley, BTG Pactual, Bank of America Securities, J.P. Morgan, and Latin Securities are the joint bookrunners for this transaction.
