According to the data from the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in May 2026, the total import and export value of automobile goods was 29.46 billion US dollars, an increase of 4.9% from the previous month and an increase of 17.6% year-on-year. The import value was 3.61 billion US dollars, an increase of 21.1% from the previous month but a decrease of 17.7% year-on-year; the export value was 25.85 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.9% from the previous month and an increase of 25.0% year-on-year. From January to May 2026, the total import and export value of automobile goods in the country reached 132.92 billion US dollars, an increase of 23.4% year-on-year. The import value was 15.86 billion US dollars, a decrease of 10.2% year-on-year; the export value was 117.06 billion US dollars, an increase of 30.0% year-on-year.
