On the news front, it is reported that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are negotiating prices for deliveries in the second half of the year with upstream substrate manufacturers. Samsung, SK Hynix, and other customers initially raised semiconductor substrate supply prices by an average of 3%-4% at the beginning of the year, partially in response to the demands of substrate manufacturing companies for relief from excessive raw material cost pressures. However, with the stabilization of gold and copper prices, the direction of the negotiations has shifted towards lowering supply prices. An Young-woo, Secretary-General of the Korea PCB Semiconductor Packaging Industry Association, revealed, "Several semiconductor substrate manufacturers currently in negotiations have received requests from customers to lower supply prices in the second half of the year. If the price cuts are ultimately implemented, the price increases in the first quarter of this year are likely to be completely offset, and prices will return to their original levels."
