The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has launched a public consultation on the "Policy Address 2026" starting from today (June 29th), and has released a promotional video. Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said in the video that over the past 4 years, the Hong Kong government has listened to the views of the public, implemented various policy measures, developed the economy, and improved people's livelihoods, and the governance has been more effective. He hoped to receive feedback from the public to compose a more wonderful chapter for Hong Kong together. The video also introduces some government policy measures, including simplified public housing, simple homes, neighborhood lounges, grassroots medical care, Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital, the third medical school, Fanling Bypass, Central Kowloon Bypass, Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Railway (Hung Shui Kiu to Qianhai), Kai Tak Sports Park, regulation of ride-hailing services, and the Heqia Hong Kong Park. The first five-year plan public consultation in Hong Kong was launched recently. John Lee Ka-chiu stated that the Policy Address will respond to the requirements and direction of the five-year plan, and introduce policy measures as appropriate. During the consultation period, the Hong Kong Chief Executive will attend regional consultation sessions with various secretaries to listen to the views of the public and industries.
