SIMCERE PHARMA (02096) rose nearly 9% in the morning, with an increase of 8.85% at the time of publication, trading at 10.09 Hong Kong dollars with a turnover of 54.34 million Hong Kong dollars. On the news front, Stanford University School of Medicine recently reached a partnership research agreement with SIMCERE PHARMA to develop innovative therapies for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients. According to the agreement, SIMCERE PHARMA will fund exploratory research on this first-in-class molecule, and if successful, will be granted the rights to introduce and commercialize it with 100% global ownership. The project partners include Dr. Chaitan Khosla and Dr. Cui Bianxiao, who lead a top global chemical biology laboratory at Stanford University School of Medicine and are members of the Stanford Drug Accelerator. Zhou Gaobo, Chief Investment Officer of SIMCERE PHARMA, stated: "This is the second global original project that SIMCERE has collaborated on with Stanford University. Our continued partnership with Stanford University to explore disruptive original projects is a strong move towards innovation 2.0 and the implementation of the company's mission to 'be born for patients.' We hope to jointly develop more products that benefit patients."
