The Hong Kong government has reappointed Cheung Cho-huen as an executive director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority for a term of 3 years.
The Hong Kong government announced the reappointment of Zheng Zhaoxun as the Executive Director (Policy) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority for a term of three years, starting from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029.
On June 26, the Hong Kong government announced that the Financial Secretary has exercised the power delegated by the Chief Executive under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Chapter 485) ("MPF Ordinance") to re-appoint Zheng Zhaoxun as the Executive Director (Policy) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) for a term of three years, from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029.
A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Financial Services and Treasury Bureau welcomed the appointment and stated that Mr. Zheng has been serving as the Executive Director (Policy) of the MPFA since 2023. Over the past three years, he has actively promoted reforms in the MPF system, including proposing legislation to implement the "Fully Flexible System" of the MPF and expanding investment options to benefit plan members. It is believed that Mr. Zheng will continue to make valuable contributions to optimizing the MPF system.
