In the first five months of the year, the total national lottery sales amounted to 250.896 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.476 billion yuan compared to the same period last year, representing a 4.7% decline. Welfare lottery organizations sold 83.331 billion yuan, a decrease of 5.648 billion yuan, down by 6.3%; sports lottery organizations sold 167.565 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.828 billion yuan, down by 3.9%. In May, the sales of numerical lotteries reached 15.552 billion yuan, a decrease of 660 million yuan, down by 4.1%; the sales of guessing lotteries reached 24.296 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.456 billion yuan, down by 5.7%; the sales of instant lotteries reached 9.849 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.492 billion yuan, down by 13.2%; the sales of Keno lotteries reached 3.165 billion yuan, a decrease of 565 million yuan, down by 15.1%. The sales volume of numerical lotteries, guessing lotteries, instant lotteries, and Keno lotteries in May accounted for 29.4%, 46.0%, 18.6%, and 6.0% of the total lottery sales respectively. Video lottery sales amounted to 0.0039 billion yuan, an increase of 0.003 billion yuan compared to the previous year. In the first five months, the sales of numerical lotteries reached 70.355 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.723 billion yuan, down by 5.0%; the sales of guessing lotteries reached 111.598 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.336 billion yuan, down by 3.7%; the sales of instant lotteries reached 53.664 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.119 billion yuan, down by 5.5%; the sales of Keno lotteries reached 15.277 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.3 billion yuan, down by 7.8%. The sales volume of numerical lotteries, guessing lotteries, instant lotteries, and Keno lotteries in the first five months accounted for 28.0%, 44.5%, 21.4%, and 6.1% of the total lottery sales respectively. Video lottery sales amounted to 0.024 billion yuan, an increase of 0.0186 billion yuan compared to the previous year. In May, compared to the same period last year, lottery sales in Hainan and Tibet increased by 0.5 billion yuan and 0.3 billion yuan respectively. The sales in the other 29 provinces decreased, with Chongqing, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Jiangsu experiencing the largest declines, with decreases of 4.2 billion yuan, 4.0 billion yuan, 4.0 billion yuan, and 3.5 billion yuan respectively. In the first five months, compared to the same period last year, lottery sales in six provinces increased, with Henan, Gansu, Tibet, and Hebei experiencing the largest increases of 4.3 billion yuan, 1.7 billion yuan, 1.3 billion yuan, and 0.7 billion yuan respectively. Sales decreased in 25 provinces, with Zhejiang, Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Shaanxi experiencing the largest declines of 16.9 billion yuan, 15.8 billion yuan, 15.5 billion yuan, and 11.0 billion yuan respectively. Lottery organizations at all levels should closely monitor and analyze new situations and issues, strengthen lottery issuance and sales efforts to ensure the smooth operation of the market.
