ABBISKO-B (02256) announced that its subsidiary Shanghai Heyo Biopharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (Heyo Biopharmaceutical) has signed a strategic research cooperation and licensing agreement with the global leading pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Company. Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on innovative drug development around multiple disease targets to advance new candidate drugs with global potential. Heyo Biopharmaceutical and Eli Lilly will leverage their respective strengths in drug discovery, research and development, and global development to accelerate the advancement of innovative treatment solutions and bring new treatment options to patients worldwide. According to the terms of the agreement, Heyo Biopharmaceutical will utilize its early drug discovery platform, innovative research and development system, and extensive development experience to conduct the discovery and early development of new drug projects around the disease targets selected by Eli Lilly. Heyo Biopharmaceutical will receive an upfront payment and will be eligible for further payments upon achieving development, regulatory, and commercialization-related milestones, with a potential total amount of up to $1.9 billion. In addition, Heyo Biopharmaceutical will also have the right to receive tiered sales royalties based on the annual net sales generated from this collaboration. In 2022, Heyo Biopharmaceutical and Eli Lilly signed a global cooperation and exclusive licensing agreement to collaborate on the discovery, development, and potential commercialization of novel small molecule therapeutic drugs.
