On June 18th, the General Offices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other departments issued a notice on the implementation of the "2026 New Energy Vehicles Going to Villages" activity. It mentioned the further promotion of the exchange of old cars for new ones in rural areas. A special section for the exchange of old cars for new ones will be set up in the activity for new energy vehicles going to villages, where subsidy policies will be promoted. This includes providing services such as old car inspection, evaluation, recycling, subsidy application procedures, and more, in order to enhance the awareness and coverage of the subsidy policies, making it easier for rural consumers to participate and benefit from the subsidies. Rural consumers who purchase new energy vehicles can apply for the car exchange subsidy according to policy requirements, without being limited by the number of subsidy qualifications. Organizations such as new energy vehicle sales outlets, after-sales service companies, electric charging service providers, insurance, financial services companies, etc., will work together to optimize the supporting environment for new energy vehicles in rural areas and improve service levels. This will promote the application of intelligent network technology, new types of electric charging technology, integrated "light storage charging," and vehicle-network interaction technology in rural areas. The notice also outlines the theme of the activity, the organizational forms, and the measures to ensure the success of the program. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of coordination among different departments and compliance with relevant policies to guarantee the effectiveness and safety of the activity.
