National Bureau of Statistics: The value added of large-scale industries in May increased by 4.5% year-on-year.

On June 16, the National Bureau of Statistics issued a statement, stating that in May, the added value of large-scale industries increased by 4.5% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors), an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the previous month.
On June 16th, the National Bureau of Statistics released a document stating that in May, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 4.5% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors), with the growth rate accelerating by 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous month. Month-on-month, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size in May increased by 0.40% compared to the previous month. From January to May, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 5.4% year-on-year. Breaking it down by category, in May, the value added of the mining industry increased by 2.3% year-on-year, manufacturing by 4.4%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply by 7.6%. In terms of economic type, in May, the value added of state-owned enterprises increased by 3.7% year-on-year; that of shareholding enterprises increased by 5.2%, foreign-funded enterprises in China and enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan increased by 1.9%; and private enterprises increased by 2.7%. By industry, in May, out of 41 major categories, 28 industries saw an increase in value added compared to the same period last year. Among them, coal mining and washing industry increased by 3.5%, petroleum and natural gas extraction industry by 1.5%, agricultural and sideline food processing industry by 1.5%, alcohol, beverage, and refined tea manufacturing industry decreased by 2.7%, textile industry increased by 2.6%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing industry increased by 0.3%, non-metallic mineral product industry decreased by 5.6%, black metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 1.6%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry decreased by 4.5%, general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 6.7%, special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.1%, automobile manufacturing industry increased by 8.3%, railway, shipbuilding, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.4%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.7%, computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 17.0%, and electricity, heat production and supply industry increased by 8.7%. In terms of products, in May, out of 626 products in the industrial sector above designated size, 300 products saw an increase in output compared to the same period last year. Among them, steel production was 123.03 million tons, a decrease of 2.8% year-on-year; cement production was 149.91 million tons, a decrease of 8.1%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals were 6.98 million tons, an increase of 2.2%; ethylene was 3.38 million tons, an increase of 2.1%; 2...
