Chen Yiting stated that she is actively promoting the concept of "Chinese multinational enterprises."
HKEX (00388) Chief Executive Officer Ms. Yiting Chen stated in a media interview that the global capital market landscape is continuously reshaping, and international investors' attitude towards Chinese assets has fundamentally changed from being hesitant about "whether to invest" to being focused on "must invest," with a focus on how to position themselves. It is expected that this trend will continue in the long term. HKEX has prioritized creating a diverse asset ecosystem, accelerating the improvement of index product systems, expanding bond and commodity businesses, and continuously solidifying Hong Kong's position as an international financial center. Ms. Chen actively promotes the concept of "Chinese multinational enterprises." In the new companies listed on HKEX last year, half of the companies generated over half of their revenue from overseas markets, with some even having pure overseas revenue. They should not simply be categorized as domestic enterprises. Breaking the stereotype that "multinational enterprises are equivalent to European and American enterprises" will help international investors have a more comprehensive understanding of Chinese enterprises. She mentioned that HKEX is increasing its investment efforts to fill the gaps in index products and revealed that HKEX will launch more industry-themed indices and broader-based indices in the future. Meanwhile, HKEX will use the index as a core leverage to gradually introduce futures, options, and other products to build a complete ecosystem of equity products. Ms. Chen also stated that HKEX will focus on the fixed income and commodity sectors to create a full range of asset ecosystems for stocks, bonds, and commodities to develop synergistically. In the bond market, HKEX will continue to optimize issuance and trading platforms to provide investors with more convenient trading channels and improve on-exchange bond market development. In the commodity field, HKEX's London Metal Exchange (LME) completed a system upgrade in the first quarter of this year, and HKEX plans to reintroduce gold futures products, strengthening the precious metal business sector.
