China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (600026.SH) announced on June 2, 2026 that its indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Co., Ltd (as the buyer) had signed a contract with Jiangnan Shipyard (as the seller) to construct 4 LNG vessels with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters each, with a total investment of 6.445 billion yuan. The 4 LNG vessels are scheduled for delivery between 2029 and 2030.
COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation (600026.SH) announced that on June 2, 2026, its indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary, Far Seas Company (as the buyer), signed a construction contract with Jiangnan Shipyard (as the seller) for the building of four 175,000 cubic meter LNG vessels, with a total investment of 6.445 billion yuan. The four LNG vessels are planned to be delivered between 2029 and 2030.
The ordering of these four LNG vessels is an important step for the company to serve the national energy strategy, optimize the structure and investment layout of the LNG fleet, and seize market development opportunities. Through this transaction, the group will strengthen and expand the LNG fleet capacity, enhance its independent marketing and operating capabilities, consolidate its international strategic layout, and align with the company's long-term development strategy and the interests of all shareholders.
