Hong Kong Land Registry: The total value of residential building sale and purchase agreements in Hong Kong in May was HK$65.6 billion, an increase of 71.5% year-on-year.

The number of real estate purchase contracts in May was 7637, an increase of 2.3% month-on-month and 35.3% year-on-year.
On June 2, the statistics from the Hong Kong Land Registry showed that a total of 8537 building sale and purchase agreements were submitted for registration in May, representing a 1.8% decrease compared to the previous month, but a 32.5% increase year-on-year. When calculated using a twelve-month moving average, the number of building sale and purchase agreements in May was 7637, marking a 2.3% increase compared to the previous month and a 35.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The total value of building sale and purchase agreements in May was HK$72.8 billion, a 0.1% decrease from April, but a 46.1% increase compared to May of the previous year. Among these agreements, residential building sale and purchase agreements accounted for 7138, a 3.1% decrease from April, but a 39.8% increase compared to the same period last year. The total value of residential building sale and purchase agreements in May was HK$65.6 billion, a 3.0% increase from April and a 71.5% increase compared to the same period last year. In terms of land searches, there were a total of 450,201 searches conducted by the public in May, indicating a 7.3% increase from April and an 11.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
