On May 20, Zheng Zhanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, presided over a symposium for private enterprises to discuss the current economic situation, new characteristics, changes and trends in relevant industries, as well as the implementation of macro policies at the micro level, and to listen to opinions and suggestions. He stated that the National Development and Reform Commission will thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, comprehensively implement the tasks outlined in the "Outline" of the 15th Five-Year Plan, make good use of macroeconomic policies, promote self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology, ensure the independent and controllable nature of industrial chains, crack down on "internal competition", actively expand beneficial investments, improve the long-term mechanism for private enterprises to participate in major national projects, and continuously enhance the intrinsic driving force for economic development. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of implementing the Law on Promoting the Development of Private Economy, strengthening research on major issues in the private economy sector, and promoting the healthy and high-quality development of private enterprises through government-enterprise cooperation.
During the symposium, leaders from five enterprises in fields such as metal smelting and processing, pharmaceutical research and production, water conservation and smart water conservancy, China-Europe freight train operation, and artificial intelligence, including Delong Steel, Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals, Dayu Irrigation Group, Yixinou, and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, spoke about their production and operation situations, expressing their thoughts freely. They believed that since the implementation of the Law on Promoting the Development of Private Economy, the continuous demonstration of the guiding and protective role of the rule of law has inspired and encouraged private enterprises. The sense of receiving policies has continued to strengthen among enterprises, and the transformation towards intelligence and sustainability has brought new opportunities to businesses, with a more robust momentum of innovative development. Additionally, the enterprises at the symposium provided suggestions and opinions on issues such as combatting "internal competition", coping with external shocks, improving the level of international operation, enhancing basic research capabilities, participating in major national projects through a combination of soft and hard strengths, and integrating intelligent computing resources.
Director Zheng Zhanjie listened attentively to the speeches of the enterprise leaders, engaged in in-depth exchanges with the enterprises, and responded to their concerns one by one. He emphasized that the national economy has maintained a positive trend towards new and better development this year, with continuous growth in production and supply, overall stability in employment and prices, optimization and upgrading of development momentum, and the emergence of many new areas and tracks that have strong spillover effects. He encouraged everyone to fully recognize the strong resilience and potential space of China's economy, to have confidence, seize opportunities, adhere to innovation-led development, standardize business management, effectively respond to risks, and play a greater role in promoting high-quality economic and social development. Regular communication and timely listening to the real voices of enterprises are effective ways to improve macro policies. The suggestions and demands provided by enterprises will be thoroughly studied, and efforts will be made to address practical problems such as an excessive focus on building infrastructure, excessive emphasis on hard infrastructure over soft infrastructure, and unsustainable development, allowing micro-enterprises to feel more supported by macro policies. In the next steps, the National Development and Reform Commission will fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, comprehensively implement the tasks outlined in the "Outline" of the 15th Five-Year Plan, make good use of macroeconomic policies, promote self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology, ensure the independent and controllable nature of industrial chains, crack down on "internal competition", actively expand beneficial investments, improve the long-term mechanism for private enterprises to participate in major national projects, and continuously enhance the intrinsic driving force for economic development. At the same time, efforts will be made to effectively implement the Law on Promoting the Development of Private Economy, strengthen research on major issues in the private economy sector, and promote the healthy and high-quality development of the private economy through government-enterprise cooperation.
