The State Post Bureau issued the China Express Development Index report for April 2026.
The State Post Bureau released the April 2026 China Express Development Index Report. According to calculations, the China Express Development Index in April 2026 was 444.4, an increase of 0.3% compared to the same period last year. The development scale index was 582.5, an increase of 1.9% compared to the same period last year; the service quality index and development capability index were 658 and 219.7 respectively, both basically unchanged from the same period last year; the development trend index was 63.4. In April, the industry operated smoothly, with improved quality, enhanced comprehensive guarantee capabilities, deepened industrial collaboration, and efficient and convenient services for the people. From sub-indicators, the expected year-on-year growth of express business volume in April is around 1.7%, and the expected year-on-year growth of express business revenue is around 2%. In April, express delivery companies continued to focus on the delivery of Shenzhen Agricultural Power Group, helping to deliver spring tea, fruits, and spring bamboo shoots directly to the table, escorting hot-selling flowers such as peonies and peonies both at home and abroad, effectively facilitating the road to rural industrial revitalization and farmers' prosperity. In April, the service quality index was 658, basically unchanged from the same period last year. From sub-indicators, the expected public satisfaction with express delivery services is 84.7 points, and the expected 72-hour timely delivery rate in key areas is 86.3%. The industry is accelerating the application of new equipment and new technologies to continuously improve service quality. Firstly, deep empowerment of technology and intelligence. Express delivery companies have increased the use of unmanned devices in multiple locations, promoting the sinking of intelligent equipment such as robot dogs, unmanned vehicles, and drones into production areas of spring tea, fruits, etc., effectively filling the logistics gaps in rural areas and high-altitude areas, and establishing a "cold chain + high-speed rail + air transportation" intermodal transportation system through warehouse distribution linkage, sharing of transportation capacity, and building a new "cold chain + high-speed rail + air transportation" intermodal transportation system to effectively leverage the advantages of new technologies and models, ensuring the timely delivery and freshness of agricultural and special products throughout. In April, the development capability index was 219.7, basically unchanged from the same period last year. The intelligent construction of the industry's transportation network is steadily advancing, and the comprehensive transportation support capabilities are continuously being strengthened. Firstly, professional warehousing facilities are being improved rapidly. Express delivery companies have put into operation an e-commerce warehouse in Yulin Mizhi, collaborating with e-commerce, processing, live broadcasting companies, etc., to jointly build a good ecosystem for Shenzhen Agricultural Power Group. A logistics warehousing center has been established in Sanya Yasha, adopting an integrated model of "intelligent equipment + system control" to provide efficient and safe logistics support for the Yasha Olympics. In Guangzhou, emergency material warehouses have been put into use, innovatively creating a collaborative model of "government dispatch + insurance service + logistics support" to contribute to the improvement of the emergency logistics support network. Secondly, the air cargo transportation capacity is steadily increasing. The Jiaxing air cargo logistics hub customs supervision site has been officially put into use, using intelligent technology to promote the efficient development of Global Top E-Commerce, and providing support for enhancing the international delivery capabilities in the Yangtze River Delta region. In April, the development trend index was 63.4. The industry continues to consolidate its network foundation, improve service quality and efficiency, optimize user experience, and overall operation steadily improves. In May, with the bulk listing of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, the industry is expected to continue to maintain a steady operating trend.
