By sector, in April, the value added of the mining industry increased by 3.8% year-on-year, manufacturing grew by 4.0%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply increased by 5.3%.
By economic type, in April, state-owned holding enterprises saw a 3.0% year-on-year increase in value added; shareholding enterprises grew by 4.2%, foreign-funded and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 4.1%; private enterprises grew by 2.8%.
By industry, in April, out of 41 major industries, 29 industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. Among them, coal mining and washing industry grew by 3.8%, petroleum and natural gas extraction grew by 4.6%, food processing industry increased by 3.5%, alcoholic beverages and refined tea manufacturing decreased by 1.4%, textile industry grew by 2.3%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing increased by 5.3%, non-metallic mineral products industry decreased by 6.5%, black metal smelting and rolling processing industry grew by 1.0%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry decreased by 1.0%, general equipment manufacturing increased by 5.5%, special equipment manufacturing grew by 6.2%, automobile manufacturing increased by 9.2%, railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing grew by 8.2%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing increased by 3.1%, computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased by 15.6%, and electricity, heat production, and supply industry grew by 6.2%.
By product, in April, out of 626 industrial products above designated size, 321 products saw an increase in output compared to the same period last year. Among them, steel production was 122.63 million tons, a decrease of 1.7% year-on-year; cement production was 145.71 million tons, a decrease of 10.8%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals amounted to 6.94 million tons, an increase of 2.8%; ethylene was 3.15 million tons, a decrease of 4.1%; automobiles were 25.64 million, a decrease of 2.6%, with new energy vehicles reaching 12.96 million, an increase of 3.8%; electricity generation was 744 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.6%; crude oil processing was 54.65 million tons, a decrease of 5.8%.
In April, the sales ratio of industrial enterprises above designated size was 97.1%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points year-on-year; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size was 1.3733 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 10.6% year-on-year.
