On the 15th, the Central Radio and Television General Station and FIFA jointly announced that they have reached a consensus on the new cycle of FIFA World Cup broadcasting rights cooperation. The cooperative events include the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as the 2030 World Cup, the 2027 Women's World Cup, and the 2031 Women's World Cup.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 12 to July 20, according to Beijing time. This is the first time in World Cup history that three countries have jointly hosted the event. The number of participating teams in this edition of the tournament has been expanded from 32 to 48, with a total of 104 matches to be played, making it the largest in history.
