Hong Kong Airlines will reduce fuel surcharges on some routes, with a HK$50 reduction on flights from Hong Kong to Japan and South Korea.
The fuel surcharge for flights to the mainland will be reduced by 100 Hong Kong dollars, and the fuel surcharge for flights to Japan and South Korea will also be reduced by 50 Hong Kong dollars.
Following Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Airlines will reduce the fuel surcharges on multiple routes. For flights to mainland China, the fuel surcharge will be reduced by 100 Hong Kong dollars, and for flights to Japan and South Korea, the fuel surcharge will also be reduced by 50 Hong Kong dollars.
Hong Kong Airlines announced that it will reduce the fuel surcharges on multiple routes starting next Monday (18th). For flights from Hong Kong to mainland China, the fuel surcharge will be reduced by 100 Hong Kong dollars to 190 Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of 34.5%; for flights to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and other countries in East Asia and Southeast Asia, as well as the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), the surcharge will be reduced by 50 Hong Kong dollars to 339 Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of 12.8%.
As for return flights to Hong Kong, the fuel surcharge for flights departing from mainland China will be reduced by 100 Chinese yuan to 150 Chinese yuan, while the surcharge for flights departing from Japan and South Korea will remain unchanged at 14,000 Japanese yen and 106,400 South Korean won, respectively. The fuel surcharge for flights returning from Taiwan to Hong Kong will be reduced to $43.3 USD, which is approximately 339 Hong Kong dollars, a decrease of $6.4 USD.
This is the second adjustment of fuel surcharges by Hong Kong Airlines this month, with the last adjustment made on May 1st.
