Macao Statistics and Census Bureau: In the first quarter of 2026, the total non-gaming expenditure of tourists increased by 24.5% year-on-year to MOP 24.43 billion.
In the first quarter of 2026, the average non-gambling expenditure per tourist in Macau increased by 9.5% to 2179 Macau Patacas. Among them, the spending of overnight tourists increased by 7.7% to 4101 Macau Patacas, and the spending of day-trip tourists increased by 40.6% to 1025 Macau Patacas.
According to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau of Macau, in the first quarter of 2026, the total non-gaming expenditure of tourists increased by 24.5% year-on-year to 24.43 billion Macau dollars. Among them, the total expenditure of overnight tourists (17.25 billion Macau dollars) and non-overnight tourists (7.18 billion Macau dollars) increased by 12.2% and 69.2% respectively.
In the first quarter of 2026, the per capita non-gaming expenditure of tourists (2179 Macau dollars) increased by 9.5% year-on-year, with overnight tourists (4101 Macau dollars) and non-overnight tourists (1025 Macau dollars) increasing by 7.7% and 40.6% respectively. In terms of expenditure categories, tourists spent mainly on shopping (48.2%), followed by accommodation (21.1%) and dining (21.0%).
In terms of the main source of tourists, the per capita non-gaming expenditure of tourists from Mainland China (2392 Macau dollars), Hong Kong (1203 Macau dollars) and Taiwan (2004 Macau dollars) recorded year-on-year increases of 4.1%, 37.4% and 8.9% respectively. The per capita expenditure of international tourists (2178 Macau dollars) increased by 32.5% year-on-year, with tourists from South Korea (2226 Macau dollars) and Japan (2093 Macau dollars) experiencing increases of 35.0% and 47.9% respectively. Tourists from Singapore (3697 Macau dollars), Thailand (2224 Macau dollars) and Malaysia (1761 Macau dollars) in Southeast Asia also saw increases of 43.1%, 4.2% and 5.6% in per capita expenditure.
