Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US) launches AI health bracelet Fitbit Air to accelerate competition in the wearable device market.
Under the Alphabet umbrella, Google officially releases the new health and fitness tracking device, Fitbit Air.
Alphabet Inc. Class C, which owns Alphabet (GOOG.US, GOOGL.US), has officially released a new health and fitness tracking device called Fitbit Air, priced at $99.99. The product features a screenless design and integrates deeply with the AI health assistant "Google Health Assistant" based on the Gemini model, further enhancing the AI wearable device market.
Alphabet Inc. Class C stated that Fitbit Air is currently the smallest Fitbit health tracker, with a core part designed to be detachable like a "small pebble" and equipped with high-precision sensors for continuous health monitoring.
The device supports functions such as 24-hour heart rate monitoring, arrhythmia detection and atrial fibrillation warning, blood oxygen saturation testing, resting heart rate, heart rate variability analysis, and tracking of sleep stages and duration.
In terms of battery life, Fitbit Air can last for about a week at most, and its fast charging feature can provide a day's worth of power in 5 minutes. Users can also change the wristbands to different colors.
Fitbit Air supports Android and iOS systems, is currently available for pre-order, and comes with a three-month Google Health membership subscription as a bonus, allowing users to directly use Google Health Assistant. Meanwhile, the special edition of Fitbit Air is priced at $129.99 and will officially launch in the US on May 26, with wristbands starting at $34.99.
Alphabet Inc. Class C mentioned that Google Health Assistant, built on the Gemini AI model, can provide personalized health analysis for users and play roles such as fitness coach, sleep expert, and health advisor. The service was previously in the testing phase and will be open to the global market starting on May 19.
As AI gradually enters the consumer electronics field, health wearable devices are becoming a new focus for tech giants.
Currently, Apple Inc.'s Apple Watch Series 11 (AAPL.US) is still one of the main competing products in the market, featuring a screen and supporting functions such as high blood pressure reminders, sleep tracking, electrocardiogram detection, and atrial fibrillation recognition.
However, compared to the complex functions of smartwatches, Alphabet Inc. Class C's Fitbit Air emphasizes lightweight design, long battery life, and an AI-driven health management experience.
